Since 2009, the British Embassy has made the following provisions for translations used in visa applications:
The applicant shall provide an English translation of all the original documents. However, the applicant cannot translate their own documents;
When submitting a translation, you must provide: the translator’s full name; the translator’s place of work (if working for an agency); the translator’s work address and contact details; proof of the translator’s qualifications; a certified translation (attesting to it’s authenticity);. the translator’s signature / translation company seal; and the translation date.
